Welcome
I believe in a world where it’s possible for one person to have an impact. A world where doing just one thing can make a difference. A world where you can improve the life of someone in your community or across the globe. My mission is to link local and global organizations to create a lasting change on our planet.
I believe it is in our basic nature to want to help others. I have made it the focal point of my life to help those in need. Each year I focus on a specific cause and donate the proceeds from my yoga classes and special events to this charity. This year my goal is to raise money for the Mt. Hope Family Center, here in Rochester, NY and African Yoga projects in Nairobi. I have decided to name this years fundraising effort the " Asha " challenge. Asha is the Sanskrit word for 'hope'. I hope the money raised this year will provide hope to those in need. Let's shine our light and create change and hope together.
I also work within the local community to bring yoga to people who need a moment of quiet, compassion and confidence in their lives. Yoga is all about working from the inside out. If the heart and mind are at peace and healed then the outer body benefits from this state of grace. With this comes confidence, radiance and acceptance, essential for everyone in today’s uncertain world.
I teach yoga to young children and it builds their confidence and gives them focus so they can succeed in other areas of their lives. I have also taught yoga to women who have eating disorders. I teach them how yoga can heal their body, mind and soul. Yoga is a safe place for these women to be themselves and to accept who they are.
Join me in my quest to help others.
Om, Shanti,
Carrie
